Where did it go?
Your invigorating speech
Now engulfed by an incessant chatter
Reeking of repulsive shallowness,
Your love to understand
Now beaten by lowly pride,
Which beats in turn when offered praise
For knowledge that does not live,
Your genuine laughter
Now smothered by a single snort,
Herald of high feelings of superiority.
People change
But for you to transform into such a creature,
I begin to doubt if You were You.
